Accessible technology

Make technology within everyone’s reach

Making the most of technology combines several ingredients: beyond internet, it takes devices, affordable costs, skills, security and clear content. We work so anyone can use it to their advantage.

Everything that counts

Digital access has several layers

Having a connected phone is a great first step; to build a résumé, attach a document or protect your data, a few more skills help. Full digital inclusion rests on six conditions.

Connectivity

Is there a stable connection when it’s needed?

Device

Can the task be done with the available equipment?

Affordability

Can it be paid for without sacrificing the essentials?

Skills

Do they know how to use the tool and fix errors?

Accessibility

Can it be seen, heard and operated with different abilities?

Security

Do they recognize risks and know where to ask for help?

Argentina in numbers · INDEC 2024

From connection to advanced use

Households with internet access93.7%
People who use a mobile phone90.5%
Households with a computer60.3%
People who use a computer37.1%

Almost all households have internet and almost everyone uses a mobile phone, and around 4 in 10 already use a computer. Since many work tasks (design, spreadsheets, uploading documents, programming) are done better on a computer, we teach with both the phone and the computer in mind, so you can make the most of each.

Design for everyone

Accessibility benefits us all

Accessibility is designed for people with disabilities but —according to the W3C— it also helps older people, mobile users, beginners, those who don’t master the language and slow connections.

Captions

They help deaf people and also anyone studying in a noisy place.

Clear text

It makes reading easier for beginners, people with cognitive difficulties and those learning the language.

Keyboard use

Essential for some motor disabilities and convenient for those who prefer the keyboard.

Lightweight pages

They benefit slow connections, limited data plans and older devices.

Artificial intelligence

Access is the first step; knowing how to use it is the key

The OECD notes that most people need general AI literacy to use it well and judge its results with criteria. Teaching AI is much more than writing a prompt.

With a people-centered approach: privacy, security and responsible use (UNESCO).

  • Identify tasks where AI saves time
  • Give instructions with context, goal and limits
  • Verify facts, calculations and sources
  • Check the answer is correct before trusting it
  • Protect personal and sensitive data
  • Detect possible biases
  • Review and adapt the result before using it
  • Know when an expert is needed
